Yuva Sangam 2024, a vital component of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat program initiated by the Ministry of Education, marks the fourth phase of an inspiring youth endeavor. With each phase witnessing a surge in participation, this initiative, in line with the National Education Policy 2020, emphasizes hands-on learning and immersion into India’s diverse cultural tapestry. Through cultural exchanges, participants delve into various aspects of life, geography, and development while forging connections with peers from across the nation. Phase IV, involving 22 esteemed institutions, promises to deepen cultural understanding and collaboration as participants visit paired states/UTs.
The Ministry of Education on 25th January 2024, launched the registration portal for Phase IV of Yuva Sangam 2024, The program aims to connect youth from different parts of the country. Interested youth in the age group of 18-30 years, mainly students, NSS/ NYKS volunteers, employed/self-employed persons, etc. may register through the YUVA SANGAM portal to participate in the forthcoming Phase of this unique initiative which was launched in 2023. Registrations will be accepted till 04th February 2024.

Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat: Initiation and Objectives
Conceived during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas in 2015, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat aims to foster a structured cultural exchange among India’s diverse regions. Launched in 2016, the program brings together various ministries and agencies, embodying a ‘Whole of Government’ approach. Yuva Sangam, a key component, organizes educational-cultural tours for youth, offering exposure under five thematic areas: Tourism, Traditions, Development, People-to-People Connect, and Technology. Phase IV targets mainly higher education students, providing them with a rich, multi-dimensional experience.
Distinctive Features of Yuva Sangam 2024:
Phase IV of Yuva Sangam underscores India’s youthful demographic and endeavors to bolster interconnectivity and empathy among its youth. With a focus on educational and cultural exposure tours, it offers participants an immersive understanding of different states/UTs. Embracing diversity, participants engage in various aspects of life, development milestones, and technological advancements. The initiative embodies the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, fostering a sense of unity amid diversity.
Past Endeavors and Future Prospects:
Previous phases of Yuva Sangam have witnessed significant participation, with enthusiastic engagement from institutions and youth across the country. Phase IV, scheduled to commence in mid-February 2024, anticipates the involvement of youngsters from 25 states and UTs. Eligible candidates, ranging from students to volunteers, are encouraged to apply, ensuring representation from diverse backgrounds. The selection process emphasizes inclusivity and equal opportunity, reflecting the program’s commitment to unity and harmony.
Eligibility and Guidelines:
Applicants, aged between 18-30 years, are invited to participate, with specific criteria outlined for selection. Nodal Higher Education Institutions play a pivotal role in the selection process, ensuring fair representation and diversity. Delegates must adhere to guidelines regarding behavior, health, and cultural sensitivity throughout the journey. With a focus on fostering mutual respect and understanding, Yuva Sangam 2024 endeavors to create lasting bonds among India’s youth, contributing to the nation’s unity and progress.
How are the States and Institutions Paired?
YUVA SANGAM (Phase-IV) envisages participation from 25 States / UTs from across India with following Higher Education Institutions paired for the purpose of conduct of tours.
India is a unique nation, whose fabric has been woven by diverse linguistic, cultural and religious threads, fused together into a composite national identity by a rich history of cultural evolution, coupled with a freedom struggle that was built around the tenets of non-violence and justice. The spirit of mutual understanding amidst a shared history has enabled a unique sense of unity in diversity among Indians, which stands out as a tall flame of nationhood that needs to be nourished and cherished
Yuva Sangam 2024, is truly an effort to integrate this diversity by engaging the future builders of this nation in this endeavour.
